❝ what is a socmed au? ❞'socmed au' (social media alternate universe) is a general term used to refer to fanworks that utilise the social media format as their primary mode of storytelling. essentially, they assume that for the purposes of the story in question, all characters have access to social media sites and use them to communicate to one another in-universe.in our case, this just means that we write sakuatsu fics that are told through the haikyuu characters' tweets, texts, calls, instagram posts, etc!! some of our stories are set in canonverse, i.e. the characters are still volleyball players using social media, while others are set in 'alternate universes' in the way that term is commonly used (e.g. actor!au, college!au).if you have any confusions about the way we format our stories, please don't hesitate to drop a question in our cc or twitter dms!
